Miles City Youth Hockey Association is incredibly proud to offer some of the lowest hockey fees you will find anywhere in the country! We also offer the free use of association-owned gear for PeeWees and younger. Our most costly level is $200 for the entire season. This is all possible because of volunteerism, as MCYHA is 100% volunteer-managed. Our coaches, team managers, Board members, tournament director, concessions manager, rink managers, SafeSport coordinator, equipment manager, Zamboni drivers, etc, etc. have all committed their time without compensation due to their passion for the sport and for our community’s youth.

To continue to keep our fees as low as possible, we require that each family (regardless of the number of players in the immediate family) contribute just 20 volunteer hours per season, in addition to one Mother’s Day or Bucking Horse Sale shift and one Eastern Montana Fair shift. To streamline this, we have implemented the use of DIBS, an online platform available via SportsEngine that allows association members to easily select and claim volunteer opportunities. Each association member should create and manage their own SportsEngine account to be able to claim volunteer items that are listed within DIBS. The DIBS items are arranged in ‘sessions’ for efficiency and organizational purposes. To claim an item, you simply need to visit milescitygenerals.com, log into your account, and follow the steps within DIBS to secure volunteer opportunities. Please be aware that if you sign up for a shift and are unable to complete it, we ask that you locate a replacement volunteer. The volunteer coordinator will keep track of how many hours each family contributes throughout the season.

Quick tip: click on 'Dibs Sessions' to sort by name. This will list all season-long team sessions at the top and the completed sessions at the bottom.

League Requirements. Each family (regardless of the number of children in the program) is required to:

1. Volunteer a minimum of 20 hours throughout the season (deadline is March 31st of the current season).  or buy out the volunteer requirement at a cost of $500 ($25 per hour).
2. Sell at least two books of gun raffle tickets.                                                                                     
3. Work at least one concession shift during Mothers Day and/or Bucking Horse.                                
4. Work at least one shift during the Eastern Montana Fair.

Opportunities for volunteering include, but are not limited, to: concessions, penalty box, monitoring, locker room monitoring, scorekeeping, rink cleaning and management, coaching, team managing, etc. There may be other opportunities throughout the season, so please stay tuned for emails or information posted at the rink.

Any volunteer hours not available or listed in DIBS can be submitted to Kelly Strub at  kstrub@hotmail.com. Team managers will assist in keeping track of volunteer hours as needed.
